Just for you....
I hope everyone had a blessed, relaxing, and fun weekend and I hope you had a chance to check out the songs I choice for the Sunday Music Brunch. I formatted them a little different this time. Let me know do you like that format or the for me to post the songs individually as before. Theses three songs I did not notice this until now. I chose a bassist, a pianist, and a guitarist not really realizing I did this. wow...I'm I good or what? LOL
Vince Guaraldi Trio............................Baseball Theme
Steely Dan........................................Home At Last
The Rippingtons................................Native Sons Of A Distant Land
Anthony Hamilton.............................I Used To Love Someone
One thing I really respected about Will Ackerman, he know talent when he saw it and Michael Manring is not exception. To me he has to be one of the best bassist around. This is so ironic because Michael was going to be my next artist I was going to post and Dayv(and welcome by the way
) left this comment for me....
"The only Windham Hill artist that I'm well-versed in is Michael Manring. How do you feel about his innovative music? As a bass player, I find his solo works fascinating. The technique in this song, for example, is awe-striking, yet takes a backseat to the musicality of the song as a song."

Thank you for your comment Dayv
Dayv summed it up for me as well because not only is he a great soloist but when he toured with Montreux he knew how to play within a ensemble as well and to me that to me shows how humble is as well. He knows when to step forward and step back. Hope you enjoy the tunes today.
Here I'm posting a song from his solo project and a couple of songs from when he recorded with Montreux
Hear is a solo piece by Michael...no looping and no overdubs...
Here is a couple of tracks from when he recorded with Montreux...
Barbara Higbie
Mike Marshall
Darol Anger
